The Mayor of Halki, Mr. Evangelos Fragkakis, was born on September 12, 1974. His parents are from Chalki. He finished primary education on the island of Chalki and then the classes of high school and lyceum in Rhodes. He studied at the Department of Technological and Mechanical Engineering in Chalkida.

Then the body of the Greek Police joined as a Special Guard. From 1999-2006 he served in the police Department of Exarcheia.

In the process, he served as a personal bodyguard, Member of Parliament Dodecanese and Professor of Cardiology Dimitrios Kremastinos, for 10 years.

He dealt with the public in 2019, when he founded the faction "In Halki and Alimia with love and vision" led by himself and was sworn in as Mayor of Halki on August 29, 2019.

Since 2019, he has also been the president of AN.DO Development Dodecanese.

His love for sports and Chalki is reflected in practice long before the 2019 elections, as since 2006, the year of founding of the Chalki Sports Association, he is always on the side of the island team, from the point of view of the coach, the head of the academy and creation and completion of the team field.

He especially loves literature and poetry and specifically the Odyssey of Nikos Kazantzakis.

His vision is the place where he was born and raised, Chalki to become an island model of creativity and innovation and in this direction he works every day. The invention of ideas, the direction from the simple to the complex, the enthusiastic design of the real matter are deeply rooted in it and this led the island of Halki on 27/10/2021 to be inaugurated by the Greek Government as the first GR-eco Island in Greece.
