Martin Hellicar has extensive experience in bird conservation, management and monitoring, having worked at BirdLife Cyprus for almost two decades. Currently the Director of BirdLife Cyprus, Martin has had considerable involvement, both as coordinator and principal scientific investigator, in projects related to the definition and formulation of Conservation Measures & development of Species Action Plans for Special Protection Areas (SPAs) that have been designated in Cyprus in accordance with the Birds Directive (2009/147 / EC).
