On 11th November 2020, within the framework of Circle the Med, the Mediterranean Online Forum 2020, the fist Business Forum took place virtually.

The main aim of the Forum was to transfer BLUE DEAL knowledge and tools to private stakeholders, start-ups, large enterprises & SMEs, policy makers, EU funds & programmes’ national managers, financial institutions, and academic/research institutions fostering their interaction and creating opportunities for collaboration.

Selected SMEs and enterprises acting in the Blue Energy Sector, located in five different countries, presented their business, products and services highlighting the role of technological progress in a sustainable Blue Economy.

Several Virtual talks and B2B meetings were organized between the participants to encourage the creation of possible synergies.

The BLUE DEAL partnership and invited distinguished speakers presented different sources of financing available to SMEs in Blue Energy, motivating interested parties to submit their innovative ideas and collaborate beyond their borders.

The Business Forum served as a meeting point for SMEs and enterprises operating in the Blue Energy market, where they could seek common actions, reach relevant partners and find out more about funding opportunities.

The expected result was pointed out that a combination of international business expertise and local knowledge can take innovation into new markets.

During the e-Blue Agora, more than 520 people from 18 countries were connected and didn’t miss the opportunity to actively participate by asking questions to the speakers.
